monobloc kitchen tap

Hi
Had a new monobloc tap fitted 4 months ago in our kitchen.
After a while it became harder to swivel from left to right (whas that bad the base worked slack)
I took it off and put some vaseline on the two rubber O rings. Thats helped things, but is their anything better?
