Monobloc tap: basin-hole too big

Hi

I'm trying to fit a monobloc tap into a ceramic basin but the hole's edge is too rounded, so the tap won't seat properly.

I suspect my best bet may be a thick rubber washer (OD 45mm) but I can't find one in any plumbers merchants or sheds. (I can get a suitable nylon washer, but its too slippery to hold the tap securely).

Any ideas (including where to by suitable washer) gratefully received.
