In the attached pic..... the monopitch roof spans a large opening into an open fronted porch.
What would typically span that opening behind the fascia board? I'm building virtually the same thing, but in having it enclosed on the front with a composite door and side panel. What is holding the roof up as it spans that gap..... ordinarily I mean. Would a concrete lintel suffice.... or would the wall plate just go straight across unsupported.
