Hi there, I'm building a load bearing wall out of eight inch block. It will sit on a very substantial footing but I want to confirm what ratio of sand /cement I should use for the mortar...if I hadnt thought to ask I would have gone for 3-1 any comments

we tend to go with 4:1.
3:1 below dpc.
