Hi,

I've had a sizeable lump of mortar fall out of the edge of my extension roof and am unsure what the right repair is.

- Can I fill it back in myself with something like Tarmac Blue Circle mortar?
- Or does it need the tiles to be removed to do it properly - by a professional?

I have the lumps of mortar that fell out, but I'm guessing it's best not to refit and fill around those.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks,

Declan

Looks as if the mortar under the next tile up is getting ready to drop out as well. You can try wodging mortar into the gap but good odds it'll drop out again in a couple of years. Lifting the tiles off (bottom course might be nailed) and rebedding yourself isn't difficult if you can access the job safely (don't do it off a ladder, it'll be a pain- you'll be too close to the job, nowhere to put bucket of muck, tiles etc). Zip tower would be your friend
