Hi All,

My roof has 3 different sections to it with a couple of gabled dormers for good measure, so i have several of these gullies to deal with. The house is about 30 years old and as you can see all of the big lumps of mortar filling the gaps under the tiles at the edges are disintegrating and falling out. I could clean all this old rubbish out and mortar up again, but just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Crack on yourself. Don't know an easier way

OP,
Are any of the valleys leaking - is damp showing below in the loft or on ceilings?
You appear to show a lead valley in the pic - the lead has been pointed in with sand and cement.
The best method for repairing that kind of lead valley is to lift tiles on either side & examine how the valley was constructed - simply pointing up with more mortar will possibly give more pointing failure at a later date?

It's an utterly thankless task, fitting wet valleys and even thankless-er trying to re-point them. I fitted a wet valley on my own gaff, many moons ago, before I discovered dry valleys and will replace them with dry fellas, if ever the need to re-point them arises.

I've used duck tape over tiles to keep clean and the ready mixed bags to make it easy with a splash of plasticiser.
Not too bad to do. It's the waiting around for it to set that take the time
