We are having a problem with mould build up in our house. The cause of the problem has been fixed - a combination of a leaking shower and cracks in the render.

As this is drying out it is causing mould (and mushrooms to grow) as well as a bad smell.

Some of the mould and mushrooms is behind the kitchen cabinets.

Is there a way to treat this (without ripping out the kitchen)

Would a dehumitifier help?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

is it a musty smell?
if so you might have to investigate furthur for signs of wet/dry rot?.

A dehumidifier wont help much as the area behind the units may remain just damp enough to maintain and propagate the mould spores.

You really need to get behind the units and treat the whole area with a fungicide, and then get some air movement behind them until properly dried out

The best way is to remove the plinths and have a desk fan pointing under the cabinets. Leave the fan on with the kitchen window open.
