Just changed the drive belt so had to loosen the blade clutch so could get drive belt over now drives like new but as soon as I engage the blades the engine cuts out help

It's got to be one of the interlock switches, I guess.....the one in the seat is particularly troublesome. Try disconnecting them in turn.

Thanks checked seAt switch first and is fine , not sure about the break switch so have shorted that one don't know any others though so if there are more would love to know.
Tried again last night and now the cutter is working so perhaps the electro magnet has sorted or a switch has reset , the spring on the clutch flew off and not sure where it attaches onto frame so any help would be appreciated ,don't know what the spring does as the clutch is held in place by a metal bar

There are interlock switches all over the place.......seat, foot brake, parking brake, gears et al but if the machine is ok now, best not worry about it!
The spring is an anti rattle device if I recall, so look for a hole on the bracket or somewhere for it to hook in to.
Sorry, don't have any parts diagrams handy, I'm in the middle of the Bay of Biscay at the mo
:P
John :)
