I've just bought some wooden venetian style blinds. I haven't got them yet but I'm guessing there could be a fair weight to them.

My window recesses are plasterboarded and from looking outside presumably have a standard leaf style lintel above.

My question is how am I best mounting the blinds? Do I rely on whatever (probably fairly short and not much thicker than a sheet of plasterboard) plugs and screws come with the blinds? Do I drill through the plasterboard with a view to screwing the blinds to the lintel, and if so what type of screw/bolt/plug should I use? Do I attempt to drill right through into the brickwork above the window, plugging into the brick with screws long enough to protrude both the palsterboard and lintel and any gaps which might exist?
