One pipe systems require patience as you are getting to know. The layout and output is different to the 'normal' two pipe system.

Appreciate how it works and it's needs, and you won't have any problems.

You can convert it to a two pipe system, but to do this effectively, and to minimise cost it needs the expertise of a good heating engineer to design.

switch all other rads in house off, let this rad circulate for 10 mins or so, then try (as best as you can) trace pipework to each rad in order from boiler an them open the flow rad valve fully and then open the return valve slightly repeat on every rad down circuit opening the return a lil bit more each rad
balance the system
