A friend of mine wants to move his CH pump (i don't know why) and i was wondering if this is a relatively straightforward job that he could do himself?. I assume he would need to drain down his ch circuit to below level of pump, undo the nuts, remove pump, alter pipework and remount the pump. Does this sound correct to you knowledgable ppl ?

Why does he want to move it? I suspect it's on a gravity system behind a back boiler?. The pump needs to be 150mm or as close as possible and after to the open vent & cold feed configuration. This will limit sludge/pumping over/ noise problems/pump failure etc in the future.
