We are wanting to convert the garage which is attached to the house into an extension to the kitchen, its already double skinned. Just need to brick up the garage door and put a window in.

The problem is, there is drain where the garage door is, so we will need to move it. We would like to move it ourselfs, as a quote came back at just under £3000 which we were expecting it to be alot lower.

first- is this something a diyer could do, we have alot of diy experience within the family, just not a builder.

Second- do you think that the quote is to much or about right?

Drain as in a gulley, manhole, pipe, channel drain? The job and quote is meaningless unless you can see the job. Moving a 9" sewer 2m down could prove expensive, to divert a rainwater gulley a few feet shouldn't be much.
