Hello.
I was researching and came across this forum so thought it would be a good idea to ask some knowledgeable folk before I start!?

I have a single (new build house) car barn with pitched roof. It has a normal single door sized gate into the garage from the garden.

The gate opening is larger than a normal back door size. 2014x1050mm.

I sourced a UPVC door which is 1000mm wide so I grabbed it quick thinking it would be ideal not realising the height was slightly to tall for the opening.

my options-
1/Trim some off the UPVC frame top and bottom. I’ve read I can trim about 10-15mm off top and bottom which I don’t think will be enough.

2/remove the steel lintel and one course of bricks and replace the lintel?

so this is what I wanted to ask about really.
I am fairly competent DIYer, is this something I could have a go at?

Thanks, any advice most welcome
