Hi all,
So I have to re-lay new kitchen flooring, it’s 7mm MDF laminate (yes it’s kitchen safe) to replace the 14 years old stuff which has eventually worn out.
But moving the range cooker, washer, dryer, dishwasher and the American fridge/freezer is something I’m NOT looking forward to.
So, anyone got any marvellous ideas as to how to achieve this feat without damaging myself or the new floor?
All appliances will be safely unplugged (mainly oven for gas and fused connection) so they can be fully removed to allow the new floor to go down under them.
I bought some laminate floor gliders, but I’m not sure how well they’ll work tbh. Washer, dryer and dishwasher all currently fit snugly in their place with only about 10mm gap under the worktop, so putting some kind of wheeled sliders underneath is a no-go.

Any and all advice appreciated.

Or on a thin sheet of plywood with a towel underneath works well. If the towel is long enough someone can pull on the towel while you guide it in the right direction.

I made up some cheapo skates which work brilliantly on tiled or laminate floors.

A 5" square of 3/4 play with an offcut of carpet glued on the bottom and a bit of 1/2 ply with a big hole in it to locate the leg. Also handy if we have to move furniture on the carpet to stop flat areas of pile.

All good ideas thanks folks. Someone else suggested using a couple of vinyl flooring planks (samples from a store cost about £3)
I do have some air wedges which will supposedly lift up to 130kg each, so I might also try those.
