moving hot water tank

hi , we're about to move the hot water cylinder out of the airing cupboard into the loft. The tank will be replaced directly above where it is situated at the moment, question is will the cold water header tank have to be raised up as this will be on the same level. thanks. :evil:

Yes it will.

You must be desperate for space to be considering doing this.
 
hope you've got a high roof line in the loft.

Picking up on bster's point, you should aim to get the base of the cistern as high as possible.

If your present cistern is too high to get the base at least above the top of the DHW cylinder, then consider changing it for another shape. You can get some quite flat and long cisterns, and they don't go through the loft hatch then you could couple up two (or more!) smaller ones.
