Hi all, Think i may live to regret this decision but hope not!

Like most people I have my kitchen sink currently located under my window. I wish to install a new kitchen and make base use of the space and increase the light into a north facing room. I want to locate my new kitchen along the length of the wall that is to the right of my window. The sink will end up about 2.5ms along this wall with a dishwasher closer to the wall end where the outside is. There will also be a quooker tap. I would like to install an ikea kitchen but aware that there is no service void. Have thought about bringing the units forward and can get a wider worktop but cannot get wider end panels of which I will need 2....

At the moment my concern is plumbing. Picture attached is what is there when I have removed the sink. There is now a French door going in there so I will need to move the plumbing about 4 foot to the right hand side? Any ideas of an approximate cost for this? Currently there is an outside tap and I would like to retain this in the new set up. Will need steps outside this door. Immediately in front of the wall where pipe work will be outside is a manhole cover...... Not sure what for as I cannot get it open.

Other concern is running the waste required from the sink to the outside..... solid concrete floor and do not have the drop I believe under the cupboards to the wall that would be required? So chase into the floor? Concerned then re the exit and damp proof course?

Any thoughts/ideas/rough costs appreciated.

Maybe also could take waste out back of unit and chase into the wall? Not sure if this would be more or less work than the floor?

There's going to be a fair bit of groundwork required. An outside section where the services are currently located will need to be dug and the cold water mains and ducting moved and the waste picked up and then re-ducted and re-run to where required.

Then the slab will need channelled and the hot and cold supplies moved and reset to their new location. Outside tap is inconsequential really and easy to do.

Costs are really an unknown as it's going to be a dig and see and will also be influenced by location.

Moving the sink is definitely doable. The water feeds are easy enough to extend, but the waste pipe is the main thing to plan properly. You’ll need a decent fall on the drain over that 2.5m run, so either box it inside the cabinets or chase the concrete floor, which is messier and costs more.

With IKEA units you’ll probably need to bring the cabinets forward slightly or create a small service void for the pipes.

Cost-wise, a simple above-floor move might be a few hundred quid, but cutting the floor or connecting into outside drainage could push it to £1k–£2k+. Also worth checking what that manhole is first, as it might make things easier.

Pictures of outside the property will help. What is on the outside of the wall that will be behind the new kitchen?

Alot of what you want to do isn't technically difficult, it's definitely diyable but the defining factors will be what's in the ground and whatever other limiting factors there are outside which we currently can't see.
