Hi

Have read several threds and cant quite get the answer im looking for.

I need to move the main internal stopcock in the newly aranged kitchen do not want it as a feature in the middle of the room, however i was going to get a plumber to do this but have been let down twice and really need to get it done so i can fit the kitchen.

It comes up through the foundations through and earthenware style duct, and it is copper pipe the pipe is very loose in the duct and where the plaster has been making good the walls when mixing some cement has got down the duct i am worried this will corode the pipe over time?

what type of sleveing/insulaiton the big grey foam stuff or is there something a lot smaller as the chanel would neeed to be alot larger do i need to protect the pipe once it has been buried in the new cement chanel in the kitchen floor?

I am aware of the potential problems of doing this myself but my partners dad is a retired builder and has all manner of plumbing tools, whats the best fitting to use the pre soldered ones that just need flux?

Whats the best procedure for a new soldering a new joint any tips on soldering that experianced plumbers whish to share with a novice, i am experainced with most things have had a few plumbing nightmares whilst being an electricain and just need a few handy pointers.

sorry for the long post i expect your cup of tea has gone cold by now.

thanks
