hi, im wanting to move some sockets from a skirting board up the wall and mount them flush, as the cable is to short i would like to know the best practice used for lengthening the cable. My thinking is to take the floorboards up and run a new piece of cable from the previous socket on the ring or insert a jb in between. Im prob makin things hard for myself therefore your advice would be great . Cheers

Hello,
As you say, replacing the 'legs' that can be 'got at' would be a bonus, and as for the others it may be a case of using in-line crimp lugs and choc boxes,(not sure you need heat shrink ?) jb's are a 'no no' if unaccessible (under the floorboards).

Hope this is of some help,

Ed
