Hi,
I'm thinking about having the meter and distribution boxes moved from the upstairs landing to a cupboard downstairs beside the entrance door.

The electric co. obviously move the meter, does an electrician put in the new dist. board and connect to the meter and does it need the power turned off again by the electricity board to do get this done?.

Also is it just a case of extending the existing cables from the loft, above where the existing dist. box was, down to the new dist. box or does everything need rewired from the new box?.

The DNO will move the incoming service head and meter, you will require an electrician to connect to the CU.

As for your cables it would be best to speak to your sparky as there could be a range of issues we don't know about.

Pic's are always welcome on this site and provide alot of info
