What is meant by lever/pad operation as opposed to lever/lever ?

I'd like to replace my existing multipoint door lock (Roto 3-part) with one that when you close the door you can only get back in with a key, not simply by pushing the handle down. Is this referred to as having a nightlatch ? (I accept that to lock it properly and engage the multipoints you would need to lift the handle and use the key). The ones I've seen always need a key to 'lock'. Do any manufacturers make what I'm after ?
