hi all.i believe the timbers 4x2 that lay on my ceiling joists are called binders,these are also 4x2.
house is 85 years old.i want to remove these to give a flat floor,can i remove the binders and replace with new floor which will be 8x2 t&g chipboard,screwed down at close even intervals.
will the floor do the same job as the binders,the binders are not attached to either party or gable end wall,they are just nailed to the ceiling joists.
