My m8 is having a problem with BT

To cut a long story short he moved house, the new house had a line connected, he phoned them from it to ask to take it over.


They insisted there was no line at the property and he would have to pay for a new line put in.

He disputed this and because he was in dispute he instructed everyone not to use the phone meanwhile.

Over the next few months he phoned the 0800 number only many times trying to get resolution.

Now he has a bill for £300 ish. Seemingly though the initial call is 0800 as soon as you select a menu option you start paying.
