My Mid pos valve going to middle pos for HW only - why?

When I select HW only, instead of being in position A (far left), my mid position valve is going to the middle and thus turning on Central Heating when there should only be HW.

It correctly goes to B (far right) for CH only. It correctly returns to far left when everything is off.

Why is it doing this?
 
do you have the "hot water off" connected in the cylinder stat and on the programmer ?
