Hi all,

First MOT is due by the 27th of this month. I know I can get an MOT done a few weeks early in order to get any works covered by the warranty done, but does this have to be with the main dealer? If not, is it a major pain in the ass getting work "approved" from the manufacturer?

Cheers!
Al

Any warranty on behalf of the manufacturer is performed by one of the principal dealers, so if you have a Ford van that needs work done under warranty, have it done by Ford, for example.

thanks for the replies.

yeh I know it can be MOT'd anywhere, but if anything that needs doing (thats not wear and tear), I don't want any hassle in getting it done (I only go home for a few days before I'm back up at work!

ahhh fair one. I'll book her in for a £55 MOT at the main stealers then :(

IMHO anything that's a fail on the MOT won't be covered on warranty. Almost everything that would fail a vehicle is down to wear & tear. Any warranty work should have been picked up at service time.
