No probs mate, and no apologies req, I had to double check myself as it wouldn't have be the first (or last) time I've been mistaken!

Yes gave taken all of 45yearsgasman's sound advice.
The green button is as far out as it possibly can be.
I have also tried to relight the pilot to see if this would change anything - but strangely I cannot extinguish the pilot light - it is stuck on! I have slid the green button over a good few times but to no avail - the pilot light stays on.
I think the gas valve is somehow stuck. As I believe this now to possibly be a safety issue, I have arranged for a R.G.I to inspect tomorrow.
