Boiler normally runs ok
But about every 7 days it will start up for a short while then refuse to light up any more even by changing the hi/lo switch and /or turning the boiler off at the wall timer
The hi/low switch clicks when move but no firing up
If i bang the outside casing of the boiler then it starts as normal and continues to until about another 5/7 days and i have to do it again
Any ideas please?

I've worked on these with a similar problem.
there is a possibility its quite serious.
i wont go in to details here but it would be best to get in a registered guy.

If your Banging it on right hand side, problem with air pressure switch staying made after being previously on

Why does it only happen only occasionally
Is it dirty or just worn out?
So if it is the asp is there a test?
Can it be repaired or does it mean a new one?
Thanks

They just wear and contacts inside stick, but its only a suggestion it may be a loose wire or even faulty contact on the board . One of those faults that you need to be in front of to do various tests.
