Have you checked the integrity of the ignition lead and the spark gap distance?

Is this a new BBU with a fan and APS ??? If it was then it sounds like the APS but that would not be the case if the gas valve is really being activated..

If not then its not obvious from whats been said what the problem is but almost certainly its something very simple!

Apparently the gas is being turned on. This would not happen unless the spark was being activated. Check the connections to the spark generator are in the right place.

no just a standard bbu my problem is the box activates the valve coil but no spark, will by pass t stat it may be arking on the contacts and upsetting the box

You say there is no spark at the electrode. Is there the sound of ticking when the boiler is trying to fire? Is the ignition lead shorting out somewhere?

Have you removed the output connection from the HT transformer and set up a temporary spark gat to test it?

Tony

them control boxes can take the gas valve out as well, have you checked the pilot injector
