Myson Marathon 600B Floor Standing Gas Boiler

I have had this boiler for quite some time now.
Recently we had a problem with it (temp wouldn't adjust)
This problem has now been fixed but I am informed that parts are
not readily available for this machine and that, if anything goes wrong
in future, the only solution would be a new boiler.
Am wondering if this is really the case and would welcome any advice etc.
If parts are available the source would be most welcome.

As I was fitting those boilers back in the 70s I would expect spares to be in very short supply if available at all.

Sounds like you have already had the Thermostat replaced, there is not much inside them so could keep going for many years yet
