Going to replace my myson cp53 pump with a grundfos pump, as it is getting old and tired, and also need to replace a dripping gate valve.

Think i could do it myself but would rather have the work done by an expert if the cost is not to high..

Any rough ideas on price much appreciated. :D

The CP53 pump is still available although its now called "Circulating Pumps" following a management buy-out. Bit cheaper than a Grundfoss too.

They have identical connections so either can be used.

Its a relatively easy job to do but the system needs to be drained. Only undo the pump valve compression nuts as the pump flanges will probably be seized up.

Turn off one rad valve on each rad and drain the system after tieing up the float valve.

Do it at the beginning of the week in case you get stuck and need professional help.

In London, we would charge about £130 inclusive for replacing with a CP53 and adding X100 inhibitor, providing there is a working drain off point. If the only drain off point is over a champagne coloured carpet then we would pass on the job!

For that price i'll leave it to the pro.

No champagne carpet to worry about.

Thanks Agile
