I have been asked to fit a thumbturn bathroom lock. I ordered a set (handles and deadbolt) rather than buying the parts separately, as that should guarantee everything fits together and they would come in a box with instructions. Needless to say, what I received was a jiffy bag with the parts in, but no box or instructions. I will probably work out how to do the job from Youtube videos but I cannot account for the three hollow square metal pieces you can see at the bottom of the picture. They slide onto the 5mm bar but they are too big to fit into the square holes in the two handles or the square hole in the deadbolt, even if compressed with pliers. Can I ignore them?
