Nailing beading

It seems to take ages to tack laminate floor beads with panel pins. Sometimes I hit the bead and damage it.

Is their any tips to help with this. Looking at a cheap nail gun but reading there not up to the task really.
 
Well it's either careful nailing or a decent finishing nailer then
 
get the smallest dia. drill 1mm? and make a shallow pilot hole - just enough to hold the pin. Get a thin kitchen sponge with a small hole in it - the pin protrudes through the hole and you hit it with a "cross pein pin hammer" you'll not damage the bead cuz you'll hit the sponge(y) when you get good you don't need the sponge.
