just used some 3 pole Wagos to add a spur to a ring and had to temp make the end of the new cable safe. just about to put blue, brown and earth into one 3 pole wago to make it safe, but just stopped my self in time........... easy to get distracted!

Yeah, somehow it seems instinctive to want to do that.
I suppose its a throwback to choccy blocs.
Fortunately your error would have been realised during initial verification before energising.
That is the initial mistake which could have led to your subsequent mistake.
They are not three-pole.
