Need advice on underfloor timber condition

First i've seen of your last pic - you are correct in that you have a perimeter rim wall in the pic, but dont count on that going all the way around. Typically, joists rest in the wall pockets and, elsewhere, the plate might be built into the brickwork .
You'll see when you crawl the sub-area.

I notice that the resident imbecile has lurched out of his Mogadon daze, perhaps the duvet fell off, or maybe he's earning brownie points for best young troll of the year.
 
yes it is called a wall plate.
if it was mine and i had no intention of going back down there then i would give it a spray of preservative JUST as a back up.this is purely as a peace of mind exercise and nothing more.
