I have a Worcester Heatslave Model HHSC25OSO 20/25 Oil boiler
The expansion tank fitted is Round and 10Ltr (I think)
My problem is that in all the Heatslave documentation I see the expansion tank is rectangular and protrudes through the control box right to the top of the boiler casing.!! My round one stops short of the control box.

My expansion tank is leaking water from the charging valve which to me means the membrane inside is damaged. The pressure gauge falls to zero and I'm continually opening the water valve to get it above 1 Bar. The boiler seems to be working fine apart from this.

Will I cure this continual drop in pressure by changing the tank and if so how do I go about doing it? will I need to completely drain the boiler ? What effect I If don't change the tank ?

It needs changing if it’s failed. Or, if you have the room, you could fit an external one, elsewhere on the pipework to the boiler.

Square ones replaced those round ones. Just buy a square one, with hose and it hangs on the hooks, once the round ones brackets are removed..

No no, the 12Ltr square tank fits up through the control box right to the top of the boiler, My control box wont allow the headroom needed for the square tank! That's what's puzzling me.
