Need help,wiring a hallway. All wires red. Have multimeter

using your multimeter set to continuity pick a red and connect to one of the leads..

will have a look tonight as i am not sure on how to use the meter at the moment.

I hope you can guide me if possible on what settings i need to puti it on when struggling.

without having the meter in front of me I cannot tell you what to set it on.. you'll have to consult the manual for that..

Bernardgreen.. if he switches all other lights off then there will be no path for the lamp to read back to live..
