With reference to the Axor Starck basin mixer tap (made in Germany), as shown in the schematic diagram below Product Ref: 10102000; if I wanted to remove the two tap tails and replace with shorter 300mm length flex tails, what size would be required for this?

It would be 300mm length x 15mm (for UK pipes) x ?

Should the bore diameter be the same? Is the bore diameter 3/8" from the diagram?

Thanks!

You need a pair of flexible hoses with the tap end threaded M8 x 0.75 (not M8 x 1.0) , and with the pipework connection end having a 3/8 BSP female nut.

You may struggle to find this size, and you might like to consider shortening the fixed pipework to use the hoses supplied with the tap. Likely to be cheaper

Do you think either of these products would be suitable?

No. Both are M10 threads at the tap end and 15mm compression fitting at the other end. You need M8 x 0.75 at the tap end and 3/8 BSP female (nuts) at the other end.

Thanks oldbuffer.

Out of curiosity, can you tell that an M8 x 0.75 is required at the tap end from the schematic diagram?

What size are the hot and cold water supply pipes? Are they 10/12mm and using a 3/8" coupler? Or are they 15mm with a 1/2" coupler, if so you'll will need 1/2" ends, not 3/8".

The position of the basin is to be moved to a new location and will have new exposed chrome supply pipes up from the floor. Therefore potentially they could be either, however I have purchased two 15 mm chrome pipes. I haven't as yet purchased a coupler.

You just need to keep that in mind. If it is a new install of pipework then you can use 15mm pipe and then use a 15mm > 3/8" iron or get a 15mm > 1/2" iron and use 15mm ended flexi's, or use flexi's that have 15mm compression ends. You have many options, all equally as straightforward.
