bought a tv cabinet which is a bit big but nice

so i want to chop it off in one end to make it fit in alcove.

Here are some of the problems i can foresee

Metal legs ! How do i cut them ? and drill holes in them ?
the holes seem to be threaded to take a screw ?

Also how do i stop the chipboard from chipping when i cut it half

Put your c/board face down to cut, use a fine jigsaw blade.
Cut the legs with a junior hacksaw and then re-drill and tap, but if the metals thin drill straight through and nut and bolt it, making sure the side that you "butcher" is not the side that you can see (but why did you buy something that didnt fit ?) best of luck

Don't forget to take the television out before you cut it
