I have a samsung LCD TV which i purchased in 2005 which cost me a fair bit as it has Freeview.
When I got it home I soon realised that the signal where I live was pretty bad.
So I bought a sky box and dish to boost the signal - which worked very well.
Once the digital switchover was announced the plan was for my landlord Peabody to install a new digital ariel which would give us all on the estate a good picture on our estate.
Well I managed to retune my TV and it was great. So then i thought it would be good to take away the Sky box. I disconnected the two large wire connections at the back of the box.
Then I noticed that some of the channels were missing namely 1-10 .
I'm going nuts. Can someone please advise me as to what to do?

Luisa ;)

The sky box receives signals from a satelite in space.
Which is not freeview
are you getting confused with free sat.
Can you neighbours get the tv ok

I am connected to an outside ariel now. Before i was connected to a sky dish and a sky box. i want to get rid of the box as the other day I managed to get loads of channels. Today I tried to get rid of the box and managed to loose channels 1-10.

sky dish...was this receiving sky or freesat?
if sky then they may well have different channels
what channels are you now not getting...it may well be shopping channels

It doesn't boost the aerial signal by very much. It provides an alternative signal from the satellite.

They are male and female coaxial plugs?
You must connect them together, otherwise the aerial signal can't get through.

Outside Ariel like this?

Sam, I new you would come in on this one.

You also say

But if they are from a sat receiver will they still work if by passing the sky decoder?
