Hi,

Ive recently laid underfloor heating on a pretty level floor and used self leveling ( flebflor ) compound to about 6mm ontop, However I need to add another 3-5mm to fully bury the cable ready for tiling. The Flebflor states upto 10mm but one coat only, I.E it gives me the impression I cannot put anymore on top. Is there a reason for this? Is there a way around this so I can add more?

Thanks in advance, Lee

Hi,

I have done a little more research and your opinions would be appreciated. Am I right in thinking a second coat is not advised because it will not bond to well with the existing coat? If so could I possibly score the current self leveling surface or use another coat of PVA and apply a second?

thanks, Lee.

use the recomended primer. I dont use the compound that you have laid so dont know which one it would be!

Thanks for the reply Matt, appreciated, so just use some FEBOND PVA as listed below and Im all set for another coat?

Quote from the product PDF "All surfaces including very smooth, non porous surfaces should be sealed using FEBOND PVA at a rate of 1 part FEBOND PVA to 3 parts water. "

understand, should be ok but depends on the product.

Cheers again, Lee
