Hoping someone who knows this base assembly can point me in the right direction, as I've hit a wall.
Machine: Neff S5555X0GB/79 fully integrated dishwasher.
Problem: Door hinge cord snapped. I've bought a replacement cord and I'm planning to reuse the existing spring, which is still intact and in good order.
What I've done so far:
Isolated power and water, drained down, pulled the machine out. Removed both metal outer side panels (2x T20 screws at the front edge on each). Laid the machine on its side for access. The spring is fully accessible — anchored at the rear on the slotted metal bracket, running forward in the channel.
Where I'm stuck:
I can't route the new cord around the pulley at the front. The plastic fitting on the end of the cord is too large to pass through the pulley, and too large to fit between the pulley and its housing. I tried fishing a length of tubing through to draw the cord round, but the fitting won't follow.
That makes me think I need to get the pulley out, or at least get proper access to it, so I can lay the cord into the groove rather than thread it through. But I can't see how that's done on this model. The white ribbed section on the side of the base looks moulded solid as part of the base itself — it doesn't appear to be a cover or a clip-on panel, and I can't find any tab, screw or release for it.
What I'm after:
Photos attached showing the base with the side panel off, the spring and rear anchor, and the pulley area at the front.
Any help appreciated — I've got the machine out and stripped, so I'd rather finish it than call an engineer.
