Nest heat link to ideal Combi 35

Hi there,

I’m looking to install a Nest system (3rd gen) to replace my Danfoss thermostat system. Currently I have the following:

Danfoss RF thermostat (battery powered)
Danfoss RX1 receiver unit (mains powered 240v)
Ideal Logic Combi 35 (mains powered 240v)

The wiring for the RX1 unit currently is as follows:

N - from mains 240v
L - from mains 240v
1 - nothing connected
2 (common). - linked to L
3 (on) - connected to boiler (neutral on room stat module)
4 (off) - connected to boiler (live on room stat module)

My question is - do I simply make these same connections to the Nest Heat Link? I.e.

On the Nest Heatlink I would do the following:

N - from mains 240v as above
L - from mains 240v as above
1 - (NC) - connected to boiler (switched live)
2 (common) - linked to L
3 - (NO) - connected to boiler (neutral)

The wiring diagrams for the Nest don’t quite sync up with this, but then in my system the RX1 has its own power separate to the boiler.

I take it you are a gassafe engineer? It’s just the fact you have removed the combustion cover from the boiler which now means there are mandatory safety checks that need to be carried out?

shambolic It's correct here - having removed the cover of your boiler, you should turn it off and shouldn't use it again until it's been safety checked
