ive just bought a laser printer but it has no Wi-fi. It’s nowhere near the router so I plugged it into the Mac via usb but how do I set up a network on it so I can now use I phones and laptop to print off it wirelessly?

The Mac needs to be turned on for this to work.
Google "how to share a printer on a mac".

The macs always on and it’s shared but I can’t find it as a printer on the iPhone, it only seems to look for airdrop....haven’t tried laptops yet.

Did you check your router/modem?
Some of them have a USB port that you can share not only files (USB stick/HDD) but also printers.
