neutral for room stat

am i? you need 4 wires you have 3? so which one out of the for dont you really need com htg on neutral or earth.

thats right the earth is the one not needed. so sleeve it an use it as a neutral what is the problem? better still swap it for a mechanical stat no neutral req

The earth is unsheathed and not suitable to be used as a neutral.

Its nothing to do with the room stat not needing to be earthed. We know that!

It would be even neater to ditch the wire and go wireless (modern technology is marvellous).

Funny enough no, but people who do use them seem to have 2 things in common.

1. Being wooed by price.
2. Posting here with their problems.

1. Some people watch the pennies , so its good for them.
2. I've never had an issue with them, neither have the people I install for.
Maybe I'm lucky!
