I'm looking to put in a new 1/4 landing so I don't have to keep going down and then up the same steps all the time. I'm not sure the 2 steps are level, is the best way to approach this to put a piece of something like 18mm ply onto the existing steps, level using wedges then screw in place? What sort of bracing should I use to stop this all flexing around?
Stairs will be carpeted, sketch included below. On another note, where's the best place to get cheap/good quality carpet gripper rod, anywhere online do a good deal?
