I am installing a new bathroom in the 2nd floor of a house built in 1850. The only bathroom in the 2200sqft house is on the main floor. I am planning to put the new bathroom above the kitchen that I am currently renovating, and dont want to drywall over the wall where the existing kitchen plumbing is before planning ahead. What I would like to know is what size copper piping should I run into the 2nd floor from my hot water tank and pressurizer? Currently it is 1/2" but Ive been told 3/4" is better so that the hot or cold water is not interupted when the toilet is flushed or sink is running. Also, the drain line that was for the old kitchen sink is a 2" line. I am not using it for the kitchen anymore because I am moving the sink to another location and running new plumbing for it. I know I need at least a 3" drain line for the toilet, but can I tie in the shower, bath tub, and sink to it as well? Can I reduce the line to a 2" upstream of the toilet 'Y' fitting? Can I tie into the main stack in the basement or do I need to tie into it on the 2nd floor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
