Hi
i am a little confused hope fully you can help
I have a baxi HE 30. i am just reading the instructions on it and came across a bit about expansion vessels
my question is .
do i need one if so where does it go,
from what i understand you need one if you fit a non return valve to the system.any advice would be help ful
cheers
:? :?

Look....if you can't even understand the manual, you shouldn't be trying to fit it. Get a RGI in before you kill yourself or even worse, someone else. Numpty!

doesnt this one have a built in expansion? how old is the boiler? if it has worked fine till now there probably is one

He's talking about an expansion vessel on the DHW side, in the event of a check valve preventing expansion back down the cold main.

Totally uncalled for that.
Is that how you talk to people in the real world..I think not.

Chris600...the reply from chrishutt is the the correct answer. Don't worry about it unless you have installed a check vale on the cold inlet to the boiler.

Yes that's what I thought.

Strange boiler not to come with MI's, get it from Taiwan off efraud?

No I recon hadn't realised wallet of docs was slipped in back of boiler.

You'll find as little syicky backed bar code on a lonely pice of paper. Send it to me?

Scatman...The bloke is intending to fit his own boiler and is obviously less than competent. I hope he's not a neighbour of yours or any of your relatives. I happen to think that was a quite mild response considering!

You are probably right Solo !

But he has actually said "I have a baxi HE 30".

One then assumes he has told the truth and means it is already fitted and that was by a CORGI registered installer. Innocent until proved guilty!

Of course we wonder why he did not ask the installer if he had any concerns.

Which bit of the post says " i have just bought a new boiler and i intend to fit it"

Chris600..have you just bought the boiler and do you intend to install it yourself putting the lives of you and your family at risk?

please clarify

thank you for your advice thats what i thought it was.
i dont intend to fit it i was just wondering

solo....any thoughts on that? Turns out that he could well be a nice fella to have as a neighbour after all.

Innocent until proved guilty!

But he now seems to have admitted that he has bought it and although he says he is "not intending to fit it himself", he does not seem to have a CORGI registered installer to whom he can ask all these questions.

Tony

Still don't buy it! If he ain't fitting it himself why is he worried about an additional expansion vessel. surely thats something he could discuss with his installer. If I'm wrong, so what...I wouldn't be the first person on here or any other forum, to jump in and grab the wrong end of the stick. Let him go and fit it himself....why should I care? HSE and the dogs don't. Now all of you go away and leave me alone......I've got "man flu".
