hi,
my boiler has had it, need a new 1 asap, i have a single pipe system though which has been renewed over the last 5 years and ive just redecorated my whole house, 4 bed 2 bath so i really dont want the convert to the twin pipe system can any one help
ta

Maybe you misunderstand the difference between the two systems.
There's still a 'flow' and 'return' pipe at the boiler no matter which system you have.

You have not said what size pipe you have!!!

A SP system can work quite well on a condensing boiler as long as the boiler is not over rated for the heat loss.

You can add extra rads on a parallel system.

what do u mean by "over rated for the heat loss"
how do i find a boiler thats is not over rated for the heat loss

sorry for the ignorance not had anything to do with boilers before

all pipes are 1/2"

You cannot get enough heat for a four bed house through a 1/2" pipe!

However you can convert into two SP loops with just one pipe joining into the middle of the single loop which will greatly improve the situation.

But so much depends on the actual configuration.

Whats your existing flow and return temperatures?

Whats your existing boiler actual output power?

Actually Tony you probably could

If the last rads were bedroom rads.
or
There was more than one loop.
or
The heating was on for longer than normal periods.
or
The insulation was top spec.
and
The pump was capable of reaching the index radiator. and by that I mean before all the heat has been taken out of the pipe.
