My architect has asked me for the new build do I want timber frame with battens and render externally being quicker and cheaper or timber frame with external block work skin outside of the frame.

I understand the battens and render will be quicker and cheaper but what are the pros and cons?

Timber frame with battens and render externally or timber frame with external blockwork skin outside of the frame.

How much percentage is it cheaper?

Is it the same lifespan?

Expansion and movements problem?

I have also read that if I ever sell the new build in the future the bank will not lend the mortgage for a single skin construction, not sure if this is true?

Why render and not face brickwork?
Because of the street scene and and all the properties in the street are rendered :!: Also I think because the new build is only 5m wide, facing brickwork will be more noticeable
