New build - unsuitable boiler?

Hi,
I have just moved into a new 3-storey, 4 bedroom house and I was surprised to find an Ideal Icos HE12 installed. I thought that this boiler was intended for use in very small houses.

Is this boiler suitable for my house?

Depends on tbe heat loss - it could be properly sized for a well insulated property. I would assume that you do not have a high recovery hot water cylinder though.
 
Thanks, I read somewhere that 12KW was not enough for a larger than average house.

I have a cylinder in the airing cupboard. Would that be a high recovery one? How do you identify one?
