New Building.

Hi, we had a extention built last November/December. Some of the mortar is now covered in a white stain.
Any idea what this is?
Should I be worried?

wouldnt worry about it, will disappear after a while, only the salts coming out. you can brush it off, but i wouldnt bother

yes its efflorescence..its the salt content in the clay of which the bricks were made,using a decent plastisiser in the water when mixing the mortar reduses this but its nothing to worry about
